The incredible #IAmYezidi exhibition has been featured yet again, this time in Asian Express online.
Asian Express’s article offers a look at the horrors that the Yezidi women have gone through and the resilience they have had to survive it. The Yezidi are a minority community in the Middle East who have been attacked by terrorist forces such as ISIS in an entirely inhuman, horrific and debasing manner.
With quotes from Ravi Singh, the founder of Khalsa Aid, this articles gives a real insight into the work being done by Khalsa Aid to help the Yezidi women.
Here is a quote from the article to get you started:
Khalsa Aid, alongside the Jinda Centre, Northern Iraq, has been supporting over 500 Yezidi women since January 2016 and this number continues to rise as more women are rescued from ISIS captivity.
The charity has been providing food and clothing supplies and general welfare including psychological support and rehabilitation to those returning from ISIS captivity, having survived extreme abuse and torture.
